Sweet, floral, and nutty honey almond cold brew.

honey almond cold brew
This honey almond cold brew is the perfect morning coffee. The hardest part is waiting for the coffee to brew overnight! We’re making a homemade honey almond syrup, and pairing it with the cold brew and a homemade cold foam. The whole thing only requires 5 ingredients (6 if you’d like to include the water) and is so delicious. It’s slightly sweet, floral, and nutty – the light flavor is the perfect morning pick-me-up.

I’ve partnered again with my all-time favorite coffee brand: papanicholas coffee for this honey almond cold brew. I use their coffee beans every day and am so happy to be able to partner with them to spread the love of their coffee. In this recipe I used their donut blend coffee grounds which has notes of honey and light sugar with a bright finish. I definitely highly recommend trying some of their coffee, they have so many delicious flavors and are always the coffee I use in my recipes (and for my daily caffeine dose!). ingredients and substituions
For the cold brew:
Ground coffee & water: I used and recommend papanicholas’ donut blend coffee grounds – but this will work with your favorite coffee. Just be sure to use a flavor that you think will go well with the honey and almond.
For the honey almond syrup:
Honey & water: the base of the simple syrup.
Almond extract: for flavor.
For the cold foam:
Milk: Whole milk, or any dairy milk will work the best here, or any barista blend non-dairy milk.
Heavy cream: essential for thickening up the cold foam.
Honey almond syrup: we’ll use some of the honey almond syrup that we made and froth it with the milk!
How to make a honey almond cold brew:

honey almond cold brew q&a
how to store the homemade honey almond syrup.
This recipe makes more syrup than you’ll need for one cold brew. You can keep the extra syrup stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. You can also scale down the recipe super easily. If you’d like to make only enough syrup to cover the 4 cold brews you’ll make with the cold brew recipe, the measurements for that are at the end of the recipe!
can I make cold brew without a french press?
Definitely! It just requires a cheesecloth. You can just stir together the coffee grounds and water in an airtight container, then leave it in the fridge overnight. When you’re ready to strain the grounds out, pass the coffee through the cheesecloth into another jar.
why do you measure in grams?
My recipes are all written in grams because it is the most accurate way to bake. When you use a kitchen scale, you ensure that your baked goods turn out as close to the written recipe as possible. Plus, the cleanup is way easier when using a scale! I will provide standard cup measurements but please note that I have not tested the recipe using cup measurements and therefore can not guarantee your recipe will come out how mine did. Here is my favorite kitchen scale.

Honey Almond Cold Brew
Ingredients
Cold Brew
- 110 g coffee grounds (½ c.)
- 32 oz. water hot
Honey Almond Syrup
- 170 g water (¾ c.)
- 170 g honey (½ c.)
- 1 ½ tsp. almond extract
Honey Almond Cold Foam
- 2 tbsp. whole milk
- 2 tbsp. heavy cream
- 1 tbsp. honey almond syrup
Instructions
Cold Brew
- Add the coffee grounds and water to a french press. Stir the mixture well, then place the lid on top of the french press and let the coffee steep in the fridge overnight.
- Once the coffee has steeped overnight, slowly push down on the french press to separate out the coffee grounds.
Honey Almond Syrup
- To a small saucepan, add the honey, water, and almond extract. Set the mixture over medium heat and stir until the honey dissolves in the water.
- Let the syrup come to a simmer, then remove it from the heat and transfer it to a container to cool.
Honey Almond Cold Foam
- Once you're ready to make your drink, add the milk, heavy cream, and 1 tbsp. of the honey almond syrup to a medium sized cup or container. Froth or shake the mixture until it's thick and foamy.
- Pour 8 oz. of cold brew over ice and stir in 1 tbsp. of the honey almond syrup. Top the drink off with the honey almond cold foam, some almonds, and an extra drizzle of honey. Serve and enjoy!
