homemade salted caramel frappuccino
While spending $8 on a frappe is definitely acceptable and necessary from time to time, it can get a bit pricey if you want multiple in a week, especially if you’re like me and also order them with non-dairy milk. So if you’re looking to make your own frappe at home, you’ve come to the right place! Honestly they are super easy to make, the most annoying part is just having to use and clean a blender. This caramel frappuccino uses my super easy 15 minute salted caramel sauce in it for some extra great flavor. I love using salted caramel because the salt compliments the sweetness so well so that you don’t feel as overwhelmed by all the sweetness.
papanicholas coffee
I’ve partnered again with my all-time favorite coffee brand: papanicholas coffee for these cookie bars. I use their coffee beans every day and am so happy to be able to partner with them to spread the love of their coffee. In this recipe I used their salted caramel coffee grounds which have flavor notes of sea salt and rich, creamy caramel. I definitely highly recommend trying some of their coffee, they have so many delicious flavors and are always the coffee I use in my recipes (and for my daily caffeine dose!). You can find their website by clicking here. Also, if you do end up purchasing their coffee be sure to use code FRESH20 for 20% off your coffee order!

ingredients and substitutions
For the salted caramel sauce:
You can substitute in jarred caramel sauce and add a bit of salt to it, but this homemade one is *so* good and pretty easy to make if you’re up for it!
Granulated sugar: the base of the caramel
Unsalted butter: helps make the caramel smooth and velvety. You can swap in salted butter for unsalted if that is what you have on hand, just be careful when adding additional salt. I would recommend adding in the extra salt 1/4 tsp. at a time and tasting to make sure it does not end up too salty.
Heavy cream: helps smooth out the caramel and make it pourable.
Salt: the perfect balance to the sweetness of the caramel. I used just regular table salt, but if you want to use sea salt or flaky sea salt you should double the amount.
Vanilla: I love using vanilla bean paste because you get to see those nice vanilla bean speckles, but vanilla extract will work perfectly as well.
For the salted caramel frappuccino:
Coffee: use a strong batch of your favorite coffee here. While this post is sponsored, I genuinely do love and always use papanicholas.
Milk: use your favorite dairy or non-dairy milk here.
Salted caramel sauce: for flavor.
Ice: for blending and making it frozen of course.

salted caramel frappuccino q&a
can I use instant coffee?
Definitely! Simply combine 1/2 c. of hot water with a little more than the amount of instant coffee needed as stated on the packaging to make a strong batch.
can I make this dairy free?
I haven’t tried the salted caramel sauce dairy-free, but silk makes a dairy-free heavy cream that has worked for me in other applications, and you could try using your favorite dairy-free butter stick. Or, to be safer, just purchase a dairy-free caramel sauce and then just substitute in your favorite non-dairy milk in the frappe itself.
how to store the extra salted caramel sauce
The salted caramel sauce makes a much larger batch than you’ll need for one frappe. The sauce will store well in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week, or in the freezer for up to 1 month.
why do you measure in grams?
My recipes are all written in grams because it is the most accurate way to bake. When you use a kitchen scale, you ensure that your baked goods turn out as close to the written recipe as possible. Plus, the cleanup is way easier when using a scale! I will provide standard cup measurements but please note that I have not tested the recipe using cup measurements and therefore can not guarantee your recipe will come out how mine did. Here is my favorite kitchen scale
