Gingerbread and eggnog are two of my favorite holiday flavors, so today we’re combining them into one delicious latte. It starts with a super easy yet super flavorful gingerbread syrup that only requires 4 ingredients: water, molasses, dark brown sugar, and gingerbread spice. That gets combined with some espresso and eggnog, and it all gets topped off with a homemade whipped cream that’s flavored with the gingerbread syrup. It’s sweet, spicy, and a delicious way to get caffeinated.

Gingerbread syrup:
- Water: part of the base of the syrup.
- Molasses for flavor and sweetness. I recommend unsulphured molasses for the best flavor.
- Dark brown sugar: for flavor and sweetness. You could use light brown sugar here but you would get less of the classic molasses-y taste that you get from gingerbread.
- Gingerbread spice: for flavor. I used a pre-made blend from King Arthur Baking, but you can use any pre-made spice or make your own blend.
whipped cream:
- Heavy whipping cream: the base of the whipped cream. You can use a non-dairy heavy whipping cream here as well.
- Gingerbread syrup: we’ll use some of the syrup from above to flavor and sweeten the whipped cream.

- Espresso: use your favorite espresso here.
- Gingerbread syrup: for flavor and sweetness.
- Eggnog: for flavor, use your favorite eggnog here!

Gingerbread Eggnog Latte
Ingredients
Gingerbread Syrup
- 225 g water (1 c.)
- 65 g molasses (4 ⅓ tbsp.)
- 150 g dark brown sugar (¾ c.)
- 1 tsp. gingerbread spice*
Whipped Cream
- 50 g heavy whipping cream (3 ½ tbsp.)
- 1 tbsp. gingerbread syrup
Gingerbread Eggnog Latte
- 2 tbsp. gingerbread syrup
- 8 oz. eggnog
- 3 oz. freshly brewed espresso
Instructions
Gingerbread Syrup
- To a small saucepan, add in the water, brown sugar, molasses, and gingerbread spice
- Set the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally until it comes to a simmer. Allow the mixture to simmer for 5 minutes, then remove it from the heat.
- Transfer the syrup to a heat-safe container and store it in the fridge until you're ready to use it.
Whipped Cream
- Add the heavy whipping cream, and 1 tbsp. of gingerbread syrup to a small mixing bowl. Beat until soft peaks form.
Gingerbread Eggnog Latte
- Pour 2 tbsp. of the gingerbread syrup into the bottom of a coffee cup. Steam some eggnog, then pour it over the gingerbread syrup.
- Pour in the freshly brewed espresso, then top the drink off with the whipped cream, a dusting of gingerbread spice, and enjoy!
