I’m Erin, a culinary food scientist, baker, and scone enthusiast. I’m so glad you’re here!

Hello, my name is Erin, and welcome to my little corner of the internet – Fresh Bean Bakery! I created this blog in April of 2020, at the end of my junior year of college.
Baking has always been a huge passion of mine. Through this blog, I hope to create recipes that inspire you to bake and show you that baking can be easy with patience, great recipes, and love (and a kitchen scale!)
In school, I studied dietetics for 3 years and believe that every dessert can and should be part of a “healthy” diet. Obviously I seem a bit biased since I’m trying to sell you on my recipes – but having a good relationship with food doesn’t come from being ultra-restrictive. While I love dietetics as a subject, I ended up switching my major and ultimately graduated with a B.S. in culinary food science. I have always loved to bake, experiment with recipes, and spread joy through food, which is why I created this blog.
My main focus is on small-batch baking, which is perfect for my little family and I hope for many others who bake for themselves or a small group. But don’t worry, all of my recipes can easily be scaled up as needed! Thank you for stopping by and for entrusting me in your baking endeavors, I hope you find something you love!
